However, we did have to find Grandad Rudge another job, as his constant walking around and pointing fingers at our work—given his years as a retired site agent—was getting rather tiring. We needed to find him a new vocation to keep him occupied and away from all the busy workers, or we were going to have to make him the tea run boy!

While it might seem like a bit of fun, the truth is, egg sales play a big role in the sustainability of Rudge Farm. Keeping animals is costly—feed, grain, and hay don’t come cheap. So, every single £1.75 egg box sale goes straight back into looking after our beloved animals, ensuring they have top-quality food and cosy bedding. And, of course, without happy animals, there would be no charming farm experience for our guests.

As Christmas approaches, Grandma Rudge remains blissfully unaware that she will be receiving a very special gift from the chickens themselves. She has worked tirelessly, unknowingly breaking all records, and it’s only right that her efforts are celebrated in style. What will the prize be? Well, let’s just say it involves a lot of clucking and a few extra-special eggs… but you’ll have to wait and see!
