Water Activities
With the incredible Dorset coast on your doorstep you are never far away from an exciting water activity. If you fancy catching your lunch you can go on a sea fishing trip from West Bay and hope to catch a mackerel or something bigger!
For the more adventurous a thrill seeking power boat ride along the Jurassic Coast. These full throttle, high speed experiences in a RIB speed boat will surely excite the kids but for those of you who like a more sedate pace there are more gentle coastal cruises.
At nearby Portland is the National Sailing Academy as well as the Andrew Simpson Watercentre. The full range of watersports are on offer including windsurfing, sailing, powerboating, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. As well as catering for the experience there are many taster and beginner sessions available.
Golf
West Dorset has some of the most picturesque and challenging golf courses of the country. The nearby Bridport Golf club offers links golf at its best where you will play along the jurassic cliff tops with stunning views along the coast. The signature 6th hole is only 133 yards long but has a drop of over 90 feet and has been rated as one of the top 100 holes in the world. Further afield there are excellent golf courses at Lyme Regis and Weymouth. For those who are not regular golfers there is a pitch & putt at Bridport and Weymouth as well as crazy golf course overlooking Lyme Bay.
