Woodland Walk

Walk around the farm through woods, streams and enjoy views across the valley

our woodland walk

The woodland walks at Rudge Farm Cottages weave through 17 acres of enchanting meadows and ancient woodland, where the gentle bleats of our grazing Valais sheep echo across the fields. Meandering paths and bridges follow the course of clear streams, tumbling over mossy rocks into babbling brooks and cascading waterfalls. In spring, the woodland floor is a vibrant tapestry of wild garlic and bluebells, their delicate scents mingling in the fresh country air. The landscape is alive with nature—fluttering butterflies, darting kingfishers, and the occasional glimpse of a deer slipping silently between the trees—offering a peaceful retreat for those who wander its tranquil trails.

We stayed in 'Pigsty Cottage'. So beautiful, we had our own little veranda & stunning views overlooking the lakes & surrounding countryside. A short drive to Chesil Beach. The cottage is well equipped & comfortable. A jug of milk & a selection of tea & coffee was a lovely welcome!

Maryann, Kent

By far the best place we have stayed. Lovely warm welcome, cottages delightful and scenery stunning!

Judith and Steve, Cambridgeshire

Relaxing weekend - The accommodation was lovely, clean and tidy. Quiet and relaxing. I went away with my husband for a peaceful weekend break and that is exactly what we got. But on the other hand the place well equipped for children and so we will be back with our children next time. Plenty of things to do locally for children and couples.

Megan, Towcester

Loved our holiday. Lots to keep our little one entertained, tennis, games room, trampoline, rowing boats, fishing, playing in the meadow, the ducks and woodland walks. Cottage lovely clean and had everything we needed. We went to Burton Bradstock beach, monkey world, dinosaur & teddy bear museums in Dorchester, Lulworth Cove, Abbotsbury children's farm. Fantastic time and back for more hopefully next year.
