We are re-opening from early July

We are re-opening from early July

When do we hope to open?
We are re-opening from 6th July and you are able to make bookings NOW for stays after this date. We are working hard on making sure your stay with us is as safe as possible and have set out below a few areas where we are adapting to COVID19. Our primary focus is to keep our guest safe whilst be able to enjoy their holiday.

COVID assurance
In the event that we are required to close again due to a second wave of COVID-19 such that you are unable to visit us we will be offering you the option to postpone your stay or receive a voucher to use for any stay before December 2021. If you are unable to reschedule a holiday with us we will of course provide a full refund.

Cleaning of our cottages
We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our cottages and have a dedicated and experienced cleaning team some of which have been with us for over 15 years. However we do recognise that in the current environment we need to implement an enhanced cleaning process which has been recommended by Visit Britain and the Professional Association of Self Caterers. We have received the ‘Good to Go’ accreditation from Visit Britain regarding our cleaning standard which includes the disinfecting of common touch points such as door handles, light switches, remote controls and the normal kitchen and bathroom surfaces. We will also be providing each of the cottages with additional hand wash and disinfectant spray as well as a hand sanitiser for you to take and use during your stay with us.

Check in / Check out times
We are currently reviewing whether it may be necessary to temporarily change our arrival and departure times to enable enough time to perform our increased cleaning schedule. This will depend on how busy we are for that arrival or departure day and we will contact you to let you know any revised arrival and departure time. It is likely that this will mean we will ask you to arrive no earlier than 5pm and depart no later than 9am.

Communal Facilities
We are currently working hard to ensure that as much of our communal facilities will remain available and again we will be following the guidance issued by Visit Britain and the Professional Association of Self Caterers. We will provide detailed guidance on what facilities will be available and any measures in relation to their use prior to your stay. We do hope that all our outdoor facilities such as the tennis court, play areas and boating lake will be available and we have installed hand sanitisers around the farm for use by our guests before and after use of any facilities. We may have to make some adjustments to the use of our indoor facilities to ensure social distancing is observed.

Beaches
We are very fortunate that we have the world famous Chesil Beach on our doorstep. At 18 miles long Chesil Beach is probably the best beach in the country to observe social distancing and make sure you have plenty of space to enjoy yourselves. We would not recommend you visit some of the more crowded beaches such as Lulworth Cove which have featured prominently in the new headlines. Both Lyme Regis and Weymouth tend to be busy during the summer months so we would definately recommend you stay local and visit Chesil Beach either at West Bexington or Hive Beach.

Pubs, restaurants and other tourist attractions
We do expect the re-opening of many of the pubs, restaurants and other tourist attractions over the summer months but clearly all of these businesses will need to ensure appropriate social distancing. We are lucky that many of the pubs have large gardens and Bridport has plenty of takeaways. We will be updating our guests on any useful information regarding being able to enjoy the local area.

Shops
We are expecting most if not all of the local shops to open prior to the start of July. With regard to food shopping we have a fantastic local farm shop as well as several larger supermarket options in Bridport. Many of the supermarkets also offer deliveries to Rudge Farm.

Please do contact us via email if you have any questions regarding our approach and please be assured that we are determined to be able to offer our guests a holiday enjoyed as safely as possible.

What Our Guests Say...

Great location to explore West Dorset - We had a really lovely stay at Rudge Farm. As our first visit to West Dorset it was an ideal location to explore the coastline. The kids really enjoyed the activities on site too including the boating on the lake, the games room and tennis court. The local farm shop was fab and did lovely fresh bread, yummy cheese, and veg. Thanks for a great holiday and we would definitely recommend it to other people.

Caroline, Brighton

Just spent a long weekend here and must say thoroughly enjoyed it. Stayed in Carter's cottage, lovely and warm and cosy and spotlessly clean. Went with our daughter and one year old grandson. Perfect for families so much there to do - would love to go back in the summer months although weather was kind to us sunny but cold. Very well equipped all you could possibly want with good local pubs.

Susan, Surrey

By far the best place we have stayed. Lovely warm welcome, cottages delightful and scenery stunning!

Judith and Steve, Cambridgeshire

Perfect country retreat - First class comfortable accommodation in the Gardeners Cottage. Set in the beautiful Dorset countryside, we couldn't have wished for more. No hesitation in recommending Rudge Farm to my family and friends.

Stephen, St Albans

Loved our holiday. Lots to keep our little one entertained, tennis, games room, trampoline, rowing boats, fishing, playing in the meadow, the ducks and woodland walks. Cottage lovely clean and had everything we needed. We went to Burton Bradstock beach, monkey world, dinosaur & teddy bear museums in Dorchester, Lulworth Cove, Abbotsbury children's farm. Fantastic time and back for more hopefully next year.
